Independence Day
67-years ago, on 14th of August 1947; Pakistan was came into existence and despite all the hardship and the obstacle, Pakistan grew up to be a pillar of strength for everyone. Recently, I heard many people’s says that Pakistan is not a safe place to live, Life isn’t secure here. Do you think that “life was secure” back then when our grandparents sacrificed their lives and loved ones? Do you think they thought it was safe when every other Muslim was to be targeted and killed? No, but they did this for us so that we could have our own country, our own nation.
Do we really forget the famous speech by Muhammad Ali Jinnah
on Oct 30, 1947 at the Mammoth rally, Lahore “ Freedom can never be
attained by a nation without suffering and sacrifice. We are in the midst of
unparalleled difficulties and untold sufferings; we have been through dark days
of apprehension and anguish; but I can say with confidence that with courage
and self-reliance and by the Grace of God we shall emerge triumphant.”
I understand that we are once again facing uncertainties in
the country and it is fairly common to get worried about it but escaping is not
the solution. We will have to exterminate our differences and act as a untie
nation as together is the only way we can only safe our motherland.
I must say without a shadow of doubt the we Pakistani’s are
still bleeding GREEN, we might get distracted but adrenaline still kicks in
when we see our flag up in the air. This nation is a living example of what
survival really is. We burn daily but we don’t burn into ashes! We simply be
the light.
So this day, on the 14th of August, let us take an oath that we all turn into ONE and together we celebrate! We unite! We conquer! We scream! We shout! We simply be us, be Pakistani. Let our ancestors sees from the skies above that this nation is in veracious hands.
